Spiritual Adoption of an Unborn Child
Tradition teaches us Christ was conceived on the Feast of the Annunciation, March 25. Beginning on March 26 until December 25 we will watch the parallel development of an unborn child in the womb who is threatened by abortion. Each week there will be a short notice describing the fetal development of a child in the bulletin. We encourage you to spiritually adopt an unborn baby. This is done by naming your child and then daily praying that the one particular but unknown child’s life be spared from abortion over the next nine months. Your prayers CAN make a difference between whether a baby will be born…or aborted. Your prayers can also be a form of spiritual support for both of the parents. Please share the love of life given to you by God and join us in spiritually adopting a baby.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much. I beg you to spare the life of [baby’s name] the unborn baby that I have spiritually adopted who is in danger of abortion.” ~ Spiritual Adoption Prayer of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen
